Delete account and data

1. No account for ordinary scans

Using the website checker, downloading the APK, checking text on the phone or setting local trusted contacts does not create a ScamHawk server account. Website entries remain in page memory and can be cleared or discarded by closing the page. The Android app does not maintain a scan-history database.

2. Remove data stored on your phone

• Trusted contacts: open the trusted-contact list from Help me now, select the person, choose Remove and confirm. This removes the app’s stored entry; it does not delete the person from your phone or messaging apps.
• Saved incident note: open the incident-note screen, choose Delete saved note and confirm. The app deletes its encrypted note and associated local key. Exported copies must be removed from their separate destinations.
• All local app data: Android Settings → Apps → ScamHawk → Storage / Storage & cache → Clear storage / Clear data. Labels differ by phone. This removes local settings, trusted contacts, notes and credentials; you may lose access to a remote pilot account without a recovery method.
• Camera/gallery or downloaded files: remove originals, exported notes or APK downloads from the app/storage location where you kept them. They are not deleted by clearing ScamHawk’s scan screen.

If you have a family pilot account, complete server-account deletion before clearing local credentials whenever possible. Uninstalling, clearing app data or using a local reset is not a server-account deletion request.

3. Delete an optional family pilot account

This applies only if you separately enrolled an individual account in the paired-family pilot. Ordinary offline users can skip it.

1. Open Family help · pilot on the registered phone and connect to the pilot server you used.
2. Where the current individual account offers Delete registration and recovery access, choose it and read the confirmation. Deleting the account revokes recovery access as well as the current registration.
3. Confirm only if you intend that removal. Wait for the app to confirm server deletion. A connection error, timeout or a locally cleared screen does not prove that deletion completed.

The server action removes linked active account/device/relationship/help and enrollment receipt records. Other participants lose the deleted relationship. A separate Remove this phone from the server action revokes the device while preserving individual-account recovery; it is not the same action. A local reset only removes this phone’s saved credentials.

Older/non-individual pilot enrollments may expose device removal rather than the individual account-deletion action. Do not infer account removal from that screen. Use the pilot operator’s verified process for records requiring operator action.

4. What deletion does not remove

ScamHawk cannot erase SMS/WhatsApp messages already sent, recipient-held copies, camera/gallery originals, exported notes, or data independently retained by Google SDKs, an AI provider or a separately selected server operator. Local app storage deletion is not a forensic erasure guarantee.

Production backup, security-log and legally required retention procedures have not been finalized. No universal deletion deadline or backup-erasure guarantee is offered by the current development service. Pilot operators must explain their actual handling. The privacy policy describes current application retention and lazy cleanup separately from provider-held records.

5. When external request intake opens

The published process must let you contact the accountable operator without reinstalling the app. It will need a monitored channel and a safe ownership-verification process before any account is deleted. A reference may help locate a record, but possession of the reference alone does not authorize deletion.

Do not send an offline recovery code, device bearer/access token, OTP, PIN, password, Aadhaar/PAN, bank details or unrelated private messages. Do not submit a request to the planned address until the support page confirms it is active. This page does not claim Google Play account-deletion compliance or that production launch requirements are complete.
